Ubuntu Tweak is an application designed to make configuring Ubuntu easier. It provides many useful desktop and system options that the default desktop environment doesn't easily provide. It also offers easy installation of popular programs and 3rd party repositories. It is only designed for an Ubuntu GNOME Desktop, and is available for both Ubuntu 8.10 and Ubuntu 8.04 but not for the lpia architecture.

Ubuntu Tweak provides system information:

- these screenshots are from my desktop, not my Dell Inspiron 1501.

Easy installation of popular applications & 3rd party repositories:

- I recommend Ubuntu Tweak as the easy and safe way to install OpenOffice 3.0 Wine, Banshee, Mail Notification, Gnome Do and many other programs.

Configuring your startup programs (Autostart):

- Great for stopping unneeded wanted programs from booting at start up. Making your PC boot faster.

System, Gnome & Nautilus Tweaks:

I enjoy using Ubuntu Tweak, even though it is just a graphical user interface for other graphical user interfaces. All these 'tweaks' can be done through Gconf and editing source lists. The advantage of Ubuntu Tweak is that it has all these options together in one place, listed and presented in a easy to understand format. You still can mess up your install or nerf your system if you are not careful.

Installating Ubuntu Tweak
1. Download the lastest version of Ubuntu Tweak
-or-
2.
	@Drew Martell
.
Please stop sharing your stupidity here! Running an anti-virus in Win is the only way to go and even that is not guaranteed protection. It's not about knowing what you are doing (and you've already proved you don't) it's just you have been lucky all this time. If you just plug your pen drive on an infected system with Windows it'll pass the virus to your pen drive. And YES, your Win WILL autorun the virus when you plug your pen drive in it, doesn't matter what options you have selected on it. Fact, Windows is full of holes for viruses.
.
As for running as root to use VirtualBox. no comments there, this blog itself explains how to use VB as normal user.
.
Stop posting man, you're just too f** stupid.

Read the comment thread here

This morning I received a email from nin.com that sums up what I wanted to write today.

This Tuesday, we will elect the next President of the United States. The result will have great consequences for the nation.

This election offers a choice between two men with dramatically different visions of the future. We have strong feelings about this choice. But we feel even more strongly that all Americans, regardless of political preference, have a stake in the outcome and should vote in this critical election.

This is likely to be a close election. Your vote matters. Please use it and make a difference.

-----
So dust off your Cheeto stained hands, stop watching internet porn and go vote.
