PSP homebrew - PSP Sock and Awe

There’s a new President making his way into the oval office, but will you miss the outgoing prez? Now here’s a homebrew game that even the Democrats will want to get their hands on: PSP Sock and Awe! It’s simple: hit poor ol’ George with as many shoes as you can in 30 seconds. Strongly reminds me of a Bush presscon in Iraq, but unless I’m much mistaken, that was the inspiration behind this game.

  • Removed the Anti-Server lock as it was removed, but not completely removed anyhow
  • Added an animations applier as a replacement for the anti-server-lock.

Gundam Senjo no Kizuna coming to PSP

Mobile Suit Gundam Senjo no Kizuna - Image 1Namco Bandai’s  Mobile Suit Gundam Senjo no Kizuna is all the arcade rage in Japan, and all that action is coming to the PSP as Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjo no Kizuna Portable. Obviously, it won’t have the rich rexture of the arcade version, but hey, it’s portable, and it’ll come with tweaks and fixes to make the portable Gundam experience as good as the arcades.

Among those tweaks is the wireless team-based gameplay for up to eight players. Those who don’t have a copy of the game need not worry, game sharing will take care of that little problem.

PSP homebrew - Jungle Adventure v0.1 demo

Feel like going on an adventure? PSP homebrew developer lordvisaris has got you covered with his Jungle Adventure game. It’s still a demo and there’s still lots to be done, but it’s a pretty solid game as it is.

From lordvisaris:

Hello all, this is the demo of my game: Jungle adventure, the goal was to create a platform game filled with animation and is easy to make maps. I took the characters of the tutorial xtreamlua, I hope there is no copyright.

Here’s his to-do list so far:

  1. Create full map
  2. Add animations
  3. Download map
  4. History

Interestingly enough, he leaves us with this simple code to get the mapmaking started:

Harry Potter Lego, no go in ‘09; previous Lego games may be revisited

LEGO-fied Harry Potter - Image 1You’ve got the Star Wars franchise, Batman, and Indiana Jones - all of them getting their own multiplatform Lego treatment for the past few years. And now, the torch may be passed to someone new.

Ever since Warner Bros. (the same guys who are taking the Harry Potter series to the silver screen) bought Traveller’s Tales, one of the biggest franchises on every body’s mind to get the next Lego treatment is Harry Potter. And the last we heard from Warner about this is that infamous “no comment” response.

Unfortunately, a source close to TT has already confirmed to Eurogamer that a Lego Harry Potter is definitely not coming out in 2009.

Kojima’s big plans for 2009: starting from zero, to take on the world

Hideo Kojima - Image 1Being one of Konami’s biggest studios, Kojima Productions has some big plans for 2009. What are they up to? What’s big man Hideo Kojima working on? And more importantly, are David Hayter and the rest of the gang still willing to work on more Metal Gear games despite some (questionable) psychological trauma?

Speaking to Famitsu about their plans for 2009, Hideo Kojima reveals that their studio will be starting with a clean slate (well, considering that Ryan Payton has already left…) and still aim to be a global competitor in the video game industry.

Interestingly enough, it seems as if Hideo Kojima is feeling the pressure from Western studios.
